Thank you for your interest in Astec’s 2024 Asphalt Burner Schools! If you have an Astec manufactured burner, this is the training for you. We look forward to the opportunity to address your training needs.

Astec is offering a 2-day educational course on Astec Asphalt Burners at our facility in Chattanooga, TN. This course  brings you together with experienced instructors to explore the best practices and techniques for safely operating Astec branded burners used in aggregate drying. This course is specifically intended for owners/operators of Astec branded burners with Astec controls (Whisper Jet, Versa Jet, Phoenix, and Fury burners). Operators of other brands would not find as much value in this training course.

Our goal is to provide the most valuable experience for all attendees. For a more personal and customized experience, please provide your job number located on the equipment serial plate when registering so that we can provide electrical drawings specific for your burner.

    Hands On Training Classes:

    • Relay and PLC based controls (3300 console, BC3, PM3, TC2)
    • Hands on linkage set-up and stroking
    • Burner safety device setup and testing  
    • Fuel and gas supply and pressures
    • Common component electrical diagnostics and control faults
    • Pilot testing, setup and removal
    • Oil nozzle removal, adjustment and setup
    • General burner maintenance
    • Common burner failures
    • Honeywell programming and setup
    • EA57, EA71 and Siemens mod motor setup
    • Your electrical drawings on your burner
    • Electrical explanation of each individual component and their purpose
    • Coverage of Fireye and Honeywell flame safeguards

    Dining and Entertainment

    We are going to make sure you stay fed and entertained throughout the entire school. Each morning you will have a hot breakfast at the hotel and provide transportation to Astec’s training center. Lunches will be provided each day. Snacks and drinks will be provided during class breaks. Dinner is provided on Tuesday evening.
