Astec Hosts Growing Women of Asphalt Leadership Summit at Jerome Avenue Facility

Astec proudly welcomed 100 women from across the United States to its Jerome facility on May 19–20 for the Women of Asphalt Leadership Summit, marking the third consecutive year the company has hosted the event. Now in its largest year yet, attendance has doubled compared to previous years, underscoring the program’s rapid growth and increasing demand for meaningful professional development opportunities for women in the asphalt industry.
Over two days, the summit brought together professionals from across the industry for impactful conversations, interactive workshops, and leadership-focused sessions. The agenda centered on themes of self-worth, leadership development, and personal growth, equipping attendees with tools to advance both their careers and their confidence.
By hosting the summit at its Jerome Avenue site, Astec continues to solidify its leadership in the manufacturing industry by playing a key role in creating a space where women can collaborate, build their skills, and advance as leaders. The environment fostered collaboration and open dialogue, enabling attendees to share experiences, build lasting relationships, and gain insights from peers and industry leaders alike.
“Our partnership with Astec is built on a common vision to support, develop, and elevate women in the asphalt industry,” said Brittyn Heisler, Executive Director of Women of Asphalt. “By working together, we’re able to create impactful experiences like this leadership summit while also fostering meaningful connections and providing resources that help women grow and lead at every stage of their careers.”
The summit featured a range of speakers representing diverse backgrounds and perspectives within the asphalt and construction sectors. Through keynote sessions and hands-on workshops, attendees explored strategies to strengthen leadership skills, advocate for themselves in the workplace, and build resilience in a rapidly evolving industry.
In addition to structured sessions, the event emphasized the importance of community. Informal networking opportunities created moments for deeper connection, mentorship, and shared learning, elements that continue to define the Women of Asphalt experience and contribute to its growing impact.
“This event created a powerful space to connect, learn, and grow alongside incredible women in our industry,” shared Jennifer Long, Business Operations Manager at CSA Materials. “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and inspired by the passion, leadership, and genuine support shared throughout the experience.”
As the summit continues to expand, its influence extends far beyond the two-day experience. Participants leave with renewed purpose, strengthened networks, and practical tools to support their professional journeys, bringing that momentum back to their organizations and communities.
Astec’s ongoing partnership with Women of Asphalt reflects its broader commitment to advancing inclusion and supporting the next generation of industry leaders. By investing in opportunities like the Leadership Summit, Astec helps create pathways for women to thrive, lead, and shape the future of the asphalt industry.
“As a proud Women of Asphalt board member and Astec executive, I’m deeply honored to stand alongside a community of women who are not only shaping their own paths but creating space for others to rise with them,” said Aletheia Silcott, Chief Human Resources Officer of Astec. “When women support women, we don’t just move forward. We transform industries.”
